Case StudyStorage defender
Building immediate trust and credibility for a new security product.
Storage Defender needed a professional, trustworthy website that could instantly communicate credibility for a new-to-market security product — while making it easy for storage facility owners to request a demo.

Overview
Building confidence in a new security solution through clean design and clear B2B messaging.
Storage Defender is a new-to-market physical security device for self-storage facilities. The challenge was to build immediate trust in a security-conscious category where both facility owners and their customers needed to feel confident that belongings would be protected.
Gathering Insights
I led this project end-to-end as both designer and project manager. Knowing the audience included two distinct groups — storage facility owners (B2B) and their tenants — I conducted targeted research into owner demographics and common pain points (insurance concerns, tenant security, theft, and liability) through forums and Reddit discussions.
I also performed a competitive analysis of established security brands (such as Norton) and emerging startups to identify how successful companies visually convey trust and credibility.
Working closely with the CEO, I developed wireframes, established the visual direction, and managed the overall project timeline and deliverables.
Design Decisions
We chose a clean, corporate-leaning aesthetic with a restrained color palette to position the brand as dependable and professional rather than flashy. The design emphasized clarity, simplicity, and trustworthiness to communicate a technical product quickly and effectively.
Project Management
As Project Manager, I coordinated all phases of the project — from research and strategy through design, client feedback rounds, and final delivery — ensuring the project stayed on schedule and aligned with business goals. The site was intentionally built with a strong B2B focus, making it easy for facility owners to request a demo.
Result
The final website successfully presents Storage Defender as a credible, professional solution in the self-storage security space. It builds trust effectively for both facility owners and end users while providing a clear path to conversion.
Result
- In security-related products, trust is the primary currency — visual restraint and clarity often outperform flashy design.
- Understanding dual audiences (B2B buyers and end users) is critical when positioning a new product.
- Early competitive research and real-user pain point analysis (forums, Reddit, etc.) help create more grounded and effective design solutions.
- A clean, professional aesthetic can successfully launch a new-to-market product by borrowing credibility from established patterns.
