Paul Bowers

Simplifying complexity.

I'm Paul, an award-winning Product Designer and Project Manager with 10+ years experience. Both Product Design and Product Management require insightful guidance, experience, and clear goals.

I focus on turning dense workflows and unclear requirements into intuitive, simple experiences — bridging business goals and user needs while creating clear, natural paths that help everyone reach their destination. With strong project management experience, I’m comfortable leading small, diverse teams in matrixed environments and driving projects from concept to delivery.

Background

Over the last 10+ years, I’ve worked across publishing, media, self-storage technology, real estate tech and professional services. My career has evolved from designing for print and websites to leading full SaaS platform redesigns and operational systems. I’ve consistently gravitated toward projects where success depends not just on good design and deep collaboration with engineering, stakeholders and business teams but also where complex problems converge.

How I Work

I’m at my best in the messy middle of projects — when requirements are unclear, systems are sprawling, and teams need someone who can bring structure while staying pragmatic. I combine strong UX/UI and visual design skills with hands-on project leadership. That means I can run standups, facilitating alignment between C-suite, engineering and design, removing blockers — staying involved from strategy through delivery — if that's what's needed.

That usually means stepping back to understand the structure of the experience, deciding what deserves attention first and then building a visual system strong enough to support that logic all the way through the final UI.

Focus

I'm especially interested in dashboards, workflow tools, AI-assisted interfaces, and products where reducing friction has a measurable impact on how confident people feel using the system.

If something is too dense, too noisy, or too hard to follow, that's usually where I can do my best work.
